This past month we had our annual “Day on the Hill”. Members of our Association met with our legislators to help shape the debate concerning our industry. The visit was a success and thanks to all who took time out of their busy schedules to attend.
Over the last couple years the staff of NAHU has worked extremely hard to shape the debate in Washington regarding Health Care Reform and I believe that they have done a very good job of mediating the damage. It now looks like this may be the biggest opportunity of our careers. In February we will be attending Capital Conference in Washington D.C. Please let me or any other board member know if you would like to attend.
I want to thank each of you for your membership in CFAHU. Being a member of this professional association shows a level of commitment to your clients and our industry that sets you apart from your competitors.

NAHU Capitol Conference
This year’s Cap Conference will be February 25-27. There is still time to register.
The conference will include general sessions featuring representatives from the Obama Administration, bipartisan Congressional leaders and health policy experts. You’ll get to hear straight from the source about how health reform implementation is likely to play out and how looming issues like entitlement reform and overall medical cost containment will be considered politically in the years ahead. The information you get from these speakers, along with your interaction with NAHU colleagues, will prepare you to spend your afternoons demonstrating the strength and value of professional health insurance agents and brokers to your congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.
Since we know your real-life focus has become helping your client base prepare for the health coverage changes looming ahead, Monday’s full-day agenda will also include an afternoon of breakout sessions geared towards compliance and health reform implementation issues. Session participants will get valuable information to help them walk through new 2014 options for consumers and advice on how to advise clients to make strategic decisions that make the most long-term financial and competitive sense. Breakout sessions are currently planned on the following topics:
