CFAHU May 2013 Newsletter
President’s Message
Well, it is bitter sweet that the end of my service as your President of the CFAHU Chapter is less than 2 months away, but that does not mean that I am disappearing. As the Immediate Past-President, I will be around to assist the new board, led by Natalee Otero-Newman, in any way that she deems necessary.
You have already heard and read enough about the challenges that our industry and our clients face with respect to the federal reform of healthcare and health insurance. The question that is on everyone’s mind is what to do about it. In one word: ENGAGE!
You are probably thinking and saying to yourself that you are already “engaged” with your clients. True; but that is going to need to change. How? Well, you won’t know the answer to that question unless you yourself are personally engaged in all the facets that our profession entails.
You need to engage in discovering the changing landscape of healthcare and health insurance. Discover solutions to the problems that PPACA does not solve and discover solutions to the new problems that it creates. Discover new opportunities and new ways of providing value. With these discoveries will come new ideas that will need to be tested. Different approaches will need to be developed and honed. All in our profession will need to learn them, to master them.
Regards,
Augie Buffa, President
